I am reviewing all the old threads here and I keep reading references to The Sixgunner Magazine, usually in connection to wvhitman. I googled it but the stuff that came up was American Handgunner. I tried the search function here without luck.

It sounds like it is no longer published. Can someone bring me up to speed on this?

Are there archives where I can go back and read old issues?

I can't get enough writing about revolvers and other handguns.

A mention of any other revolver oriented magazines from that might be out there would also be appreciated.

The SIXGUNNER was published by Handgun Hunters International every 2 months, starting in the late 70's. It was basically a collection of articles written by members; wvhitman and others, myself included.

HHI was run by Mr. JD Jones, who recently closed HHI down. Membership and interest seemed to have fallen off a lot, unfortunately.

I myself and also Doc Rogers (wvhitman) have about every issue ever published but there is no way for the general public to view back issues unless they have a copy. You might contact JD at 740-264-0176 and see how many back issues they may still have.

Gregg, you and Doc aren't the only ones with back issues. I DO have EVERY one of them.

JD definitely has a lot of back issues, but not all.
An interesting note. I made a table of contents for about 15 years worth and offered JD to publicize for sale at $5.00 PPD just to cover my postage and copying it. He had no interest in it.
If you're interested, I'm sure it has disappeared in the thin air (i.e., I'm too lazy and have no fast copier now!)
I saw this add in a magazine about this guy (JD) starting a handgun organization for the fanatics. I jumped on that and had member #48. I was also lucky enough to have a story in issue #1- "Big Bores for Big Boars", really original!!
I only had 3 items survive my house fire in 2002. One of them was all my thin papered Sixgunners. Ten feet from them were 65 guns destroyed. Go figure.

I AM ALSO A SORT OF EARLY HHI MEMBER, #1284 OR SO. FANTASTIC PUBLICATION! J.D. DID A LOT FOR HANDGUN HUNTING. I DO NOT HAVE ALL THE SIXGUNNER'S, JUST ALL THE ONE'S I EVER GOT. I WILL NEVER THROW THEM AWAY.

Any guess on what it would cost to pay some service to copy the whole shebang and make a little profit for your trouble? I wonder if enough members here would be interested to make it worth the effort?
