Friend of mine took his 5 year old son hunting this morning and this is what he shot. Dad filmed the hunt. Little man was shooting a 300 black out on an M4. Stock was all the way forward. Gun is suppressed but they were not shooting subsonic. Same gun his brother killed 5 deer with last yearwhem he was 5 1/2.

Very good. That's when my dad started me, and it stuck. A die hard hunter is being formed.

A 300 Blackout in an M4 would be a very good place for a young deer hunter to start. The 125 Ballistic Tip should perform well.

Way back I started the youngest son out with a shortened stock Remington 788 in 223 with 62 grain soft points. The 300 Blackout/125 BT would be a better low recoil deer round.

With an M4 you can just keep extending the stock as they grow up.
