Like closing the barn door after all the horses are out I guess. I wanted a reasonably compact pair of 10x binoculars of good quality. I carried a full size pair while hiking last weekend, they were just too big and cumbersome, especially under a coat. Decided it was time for a compact pair, after looking at Nikon and Leupold the guy behind the counter steered me to Vortex, I was actually impressed with the size, quality, clarity and warranty. I ended up with a pair of the Diamondback 10x. Anyone here have experience with Vortex? Sales guy told me they pretty much have one of the best warranties in the business.

I bought a pair of Vortex Crossfire 10X42 last year. I love them. I don't know that they could be beat at that price point.

I think you?ll enjoy them. I don?t own their binoculars but a couple lease buddies do and they like them a lot. I do own one of their red dot sights and it?s my favorite one.

I've got one of their hunting scopes, red dots and spotting scope. All great equipment. The spotting scope is excellent. I can see 0.17" holes on paper targets at 220 yards.

Not exacialy compact, but I really like the canon image stabalized binoculars. They work great in situations where you aren't completely stable and braced. They work well in a canoe even.

I have the compact diamond backs and the 10x vipers. Not as bright as the swaro?s but high quality, comes with full lens caps and are clear and work really really well. Love em and cant beat em for the price. Id find em a value at 3x the cost and u cant beat the warranty.
