Don`t know if some of you younger members know who Skeeter Skelton was, so I`ll just leave it that he was a very popular gun writer.....I recently received a copy of Handgun Hunting by George Nonte and Lee Jurras that was signed to Skeeter, by Nonte, with the following.... "To border jumper Skeeter Skelton, a practicing pistolero, George C. Nonte".... I was in for a real surprise when I opened the book and found a typed letter that was with the book when sent to Skeeter.... I`ve scanned both and hope you can make them out.... PS- I was lucky enough to have Lee Jurras sign my copy that I had mailed to him before he passed...

How did you get that James? Did you know Jurras personally?

JAMES: COOL, VERY COOL.

QUIZ: WHAT WAS SKEETER'S "IF I ONLY COULD HAVE 1" GUN? I THINK I REMEMBER.

That is way over the top James!!! Each of these men Legends in my opinion. Always enjoyed Skeeter's writing and colorful language. Does anyone remember Dobie Gray?

Skeeter was/is my favorite.

45Man, 5" S&W Model 27. That was an excellent article with a lot of good thought put into it. The closest I could get was a 4" Mod. 28. But, it does wear a set of Bearhug Grips.

I figure if you've been handgun hunting for long you probaly know about Skeeter, but I guess I'm getting a little long in the tooth too.
