I saw 52 degrees, wind and 60% chance of rain for our CNY firearm opener. Now Sunday.....Lake Effect. Bring it on!!!

What are you NY'ers taking in the woods for opening day??

I haven't decided whether to bring my T/C Encore in 7mm-08 or my SBH with Leupold 2X on it.

I shot this young buck with my CVA Optima V2 muzzleloader pistol at 73 yards. I am shooting 90 gr of Blackhorn 209 behind a Thomson Center Cheap Shot. The shot was a broadside double lung shot and the deer stumbled down hill about 75 yards.

Dragging this over from the bragging board. Broke in my new RB .44 last weekend. 35 yard shot on this delicious doe. Handloaded ammo of 270 grain Speer Gold Dot Deep Curl, pushed by 21 grains of H110, and ignited with a CCI 350 primer.

Go ahead and make fun of my hat. All my 'buddies' have done so already...hehe.

Way to go, Michael. Been considering one of those pistols for our ML season later in NOV. What weight bullet and how's the recoil with 90 grains of B209?
