Is there a scope out there that will take the recoil of a .44mag for $150 or less.

Burris 2x is as cheap as I'll go on a .44 revolver.

I've been running a few Simmons 4x handgun scopes on a few handguns from .357 Mag, to .44 Mag, on up to .35 Remington.

It is what it is for the money. So far, they've worked.

I had a Simmons 4x on my Redhawk but it would not stay zeroed but they do fine on the GP-100.

You can often find used Leupold 2X scopes for around that price. I've bought many used Leupolds and they have worked well. Leupold will stand behind them too. "Cheap scopes" make me nervous. When I'm hunting I don't want to carry anything I don't have confidence in.

I've got a Bushnell Trophy Handgun 2-6x32 on a 7mm-08 that has held up very well. I can't compare the recoil of the two but I'll say that the 7-08 is a snappy shooter.

**Note: just looked this up at $179 on Amazon

Do this! you will be a lot better off.

watch for factory seconds and "blemished" sales too, and you will still be much better off than a cheap optic... handguns are just too hard on them to rely on the cheap stuff imho

Couldn't agree more... after all, we only have so many hunting seasons in a lifetime!

Used Leupold 2x would be hard to beat. I have one on a hard kicker that has never missed a beat in probably 20000 shots.
