Been looking for a lighter hunting revolver than what i have now (6.5" and 7.5" 629). Looked long and hard at Bisley's in 41 mag with 5.5" barrels but i am too used to the N frames after shooting these for 25 years. The 329, while it has a shorter barrel than i owuld like, could be a possibility. Weighs about half of my 629s...

Anyone shoot these with 240 gr loads @1350ish?

any feedback appreciated.
thanks
SnT

Get a good shooting glove, hang on . They will be ------twitchie. The recoil will be faster and harder. When you give up that much weight the recoil impulses speed up and go up.

I've shot a friends. As Junebug says, fast, hard recoil( from the light weight), more difficult to shoot accurately with any load, especially if you try to rush shots. All in all, not a very shooter friendly gun.
My 5" Redhawk may weigh a bit more, but far easier to shoot.

I've shot one with my max 240gr XTP loads and hot 325gr WFN-GC bear loads.

It's exceptionally brisk in recoil. Not a range gun. Not really what I would consider a hunting gun either.

It's a carry gun in my book.

Wasn't really a fan.

I had one for about a week. Purchased it new with the intent of using its as a carry side arm. It worked great as a carry gun but when you shot it it would send small particles of the bullet jacket back into your face via the little SS deflector strip.

So I sent it back to S&W they claimed they recut the forcing cone and replaced and retimed the cylinder.

So I shot it maybe another 12 rounds and after cleaning the copper bits out of my face. I returned the gun to the store I bought it from and they refunded my money.

So in short unless they have improved their product quality on the old 329 I would shoot it prior to purchase.

Have you given any thought to the S&W 69? I don't own one, but I'm looking.

The 69 or the old 696 in 44 spl would be a great gun. Its interesting to me that the newer 69 is rated for the 44mag and not the 44 spl.
