I ordered the Weigand mount designed for the 480/454 Super Redhawks last night.
I am looking for suggestions for an optic to put on it.

If you like red dots then the Ultra Dot line will hold up to anything you throw at it.For scopes I like variables. Turn up or down as needed. The Bushnell 3200 Elite 2x6 series are great as is the Weaver 2x8 or Leopold .

Lucy is wearing a Bushnell Elite 3500 (2-6x) in this photo, but has also been known to wear an Ultradot.

Like Whitworth, my .475 Linebaugh has had 2-6 Bushnell Elite (better for longer shots) and UltraDot (did lion at 23 yd. and Cape buff at 50 yd., deer and groundhogs to 80+ yds).
They both work well as long as you match them to the proper distances.

Thanks for the replies. Max there is NO way I want to shoot something with recoil so violent the scope has to be mounted that way. :-)

I have an Ultra Dot on my BP CVA Optima pistol.

Mine is now wearing a 2.5x8 Weaver Pistol scope. I have bought several of them. I usually use Leupold but these have proven to be very durable and great optics as well.

Their compact size is also a plus, IMO

I have a Weaver 2.5 x 8 on my CVA Optima V2 BP pistol and my 30 30 Sweet 14 Contende. I love them both.

I really like my Bushnell Elite 2-6x scopes. They work great on heavy hitters and have arm's length eye relief. I have one on my Contender 358 JDJ and one on my S&W 460 XVR. Work well.

I agree. I like the size especially for the optical quality.
