Any 480 Ruger shooters out there?

I am the proud owner of a new Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley 5 shot revolver. What can anyone tell me about this lovely cartridge?

First of all, congratulations on scoring a great revolver in a great cartridge! It's one of my favorites, and I have owned one in one iteration or another since 2001. It's easy shooting and very terminally effective when loaded correctly. I have a the same revolver and recently took delivery of one of the new 4 5/8-inch barreled .480 models. I'm anxious to hear your shooting impressions!

I really like mine!! I think she was one of the first public SBH 480's shipped and she will not be for sale anytime soon. I did a little post about it when I first got her here... and it seems pretty popular because I have shipped quite a few holsters for the big SBH since then.

I love them, to me they are kind of the dividing line between manageable recoil & recoil that's a bit over the edge. Anyone that can handle a 44 magnum should be able to shoot a 480 with reasonable loads.
I've owned 3, first one was A Super Red Hawk & I took my bull moose with it several years ago, then a Harton 5 shot Bisley which accounted for another bull moose & then one of the new Bisley's like the one you mention. They are great guns & you don't have to run them full tilt to take 90% of what's out there. Run them 1000-1100 fps with a good cast slug & you can just about eat the bullet hole.

The only thing I don't like is that CPB quit the 370gr bullet. It was a perfect match. At 1400fps it dropped deer like a h-bomb.
