It seems like popular opinion is for a black scope. I'll probably just Cerakote the one I have rather than buy another one so do you guys think I should do it in black or in camo like the red dot that broke. I probably won't do anything on it until this summer assuming I'm caught up with my work enough to mess with it plus I still have the elk ag damage hunt that goes until the end of March and I may use the 500. The only bad thing is the 500 is sighted in with CP 435gr WFNGC so I'll have to listen to the hardcast guys give me crap for using a hc since I'm a proponent of jacketed bullets although I really have nothing against the hc's. I can hear Whitworth now, "I told you so".

I think straight black. It will really set off those grips.

Well I'm all out of 900grain bullets so I have to use the light stuff. I only have it running about 1300fps so it may be under powered.

UPDATE: As I had mentioned I blew up the Bushnell Trophy Red Dot that had survived several other hard hitting big bores. I sent the sight in about 3 weeks ago and today I recieved a brand new one. I would rate their service as good but not great. I may be spoiled from years of dealing with Leupold but on warranties with Bushnell you have to send a check for 10.00 for return shipping and then I received a confirmation note from them about a week later. Turn around time was fair, I didn't care much for having to pay shipping but in the end I did get a new sight. I'm thinking I may put it back on the 500 and see if it will hold up.

Yep, too slow, you need 2.3 fps more!
\:D

If you want to see something, shoot a gallon jug of water at 100 yards once.
I will caution you if you shoot a deer with it. Never shoot one facing you. I use a hard 440 gr in the JRH. I fooled a deer I spotted looking at me at 100+ yards in the thick to walk to me. I hit her in the neck at 30 yards. I ruined the neck, one shoulder, blew the lungs, liver, stomach and half the guts before boolit exit. I opened her to find green soup!
Would you REALLY use an expanding bullet?
You are doing good and just don't know the power you have yet.
